This software system is designed to receive a set of electronic submissions of abstracts to papers which will be given at a conference. The system collates the submissions, catalogs them, and generates a book of abstracts that is typically distributed at the conference.

What we provided

We were asked to step in and optimize the existing system. By making some changes in the algorithms, as well as recoding key sections of the operation in a more appropriate language, the typical process time was reduced from eight hours to ten minutes on the same machine.
